Hello and welcome to the first day of the When Pigs Fly Blog Hop, hosted by my friend Joan of Moosestash Quilting!! Thanks, Joan for this extra push to complete a UFO!!

Joan challenged us to get out our PIGS (Projects in Grocery Sacks), UFOs (Unfinished Objects), and WIPs (Works in Progress)…and get ‘er done!!! Since I have MANY of these, this blog hop is perfect for me…and I got another one finished!!
The project I chose to get done today was my 2021 Color Challenge quilt. This has been a flimsy for oh, at least a year now and this past week, I got her quilted up and bound. Here is the flimsy.

Ms. Mattie was up for the task, so with some ruler work, stitch in the ditch, and some free motion quilting, my flimsy is no longer a UFO!! Here she is!!

Those of you who have followed me for a while know I just love “binding on a roll!!” I happened to have some navy grunge in the studio and thought it would work great with this quilt, since all the fabrics are grunge. You can get binding on a roll at Fat Quarter Shop or your favorite quilt store!
Here is the schedule for the blog hop this week. I hope you will visit my fellow bloggers and see what PIGS they’ve made fly! LOL

Wonderful and lovely finish! Thanks for sharing!
Well done on the finish Brenda – that’s a lovely finish, and I like how you have offset the centre column.
I remember these blocks I think I featured the brown block, but I never made the other blocks that year. Yours is great
Oooh that was a good one to finish! I think I have one from that year too… or similar 🙂 It turned out just beautifully, well done! xx
I love this finish – and I knew it was a block of the month color challenge quilt. Just great. I do need to order some of that binding on a roll next time. It is so nice to have it all ready!
Beautiful job, Brenda. The quilt motifs in each block compliments the blocks perfectly. This sampler quilt is indeed a beauty.
I like it! I haven’t tried the binding on a roll, but I do dislike both making the binding and putting it on, so I might have to give it a go.
What a wonderful sampler quilt! The grunge colors look great on the gray background, and the navy binding works perfectly! Your quilting is just beautiful!
It’s a beauty, Brenda! What a difference the quilting makes! I love grunge too and a local shop just started carrying it and for less that I have seen anywhere, so it could be dangerous for me to go there!!! LOL!!! What a
It always feels good to finish off a long awaiting project.
Wonderful finish, love the quilting.
Excellent finish! I love how your quilting enhances the blocks.
Fabulous! Completing a project is just the best feeling. Congrats.
Beautiful finish, lovely quilting!
What a terrific finish. Love your quilting. It shows that you wanted this done well not just a finish. The quilt itself is a wonderful collection of blocks.
What a great finish! I love the way you quilted it and binding with already cut grunge sounds like a wonderful way to do it. Thanks for sharing this beautiful PIG!
Beautiful finish, Brenda!!! Awesome quilting!!! It feels good to have a Pig Fly, doesn’t it? 🙂
That old adage…quilting makes the quilt, says a mouthful here. Your color challenge quilt is gorgeous to begin with, but that quilting makes it just sing. What a fabulous job you did! I really need to work on my quilting skills. You might just push me off that ledge! LOL!!
Well that is a great PIG that you let fly!!! what a fun colorful one too!!!
Oh wow, you did a great job on your color challenge quilt! I saw my blocks sitting and waiting when I considered UFOs, but mine will wait for another day. 😉 I love the gray grunge background and the offset rows!
Beautiful quilt! The quilting looks amazing.
