Wow, I can hardly believe this is the last month of the year, and the last month of the 2021 Color Challenge hosted by Jen at Patterns by Jen. This month’s food color inspiration is the olive! So olive green it is!! While I enjoy olives, I do not have a recipe for you this month as I don’t use olives in recipes – I have a picky eater! LOL I present to you my December block.

For all of my blocks, I have used my AccuQuilt GOBig cutter and the dies from the 12-inch Qube. I cannot tell you how much time it has saved me! They have some great specials going on right now, too! If you need a new die or a cutting machine, head on over to their website. Treat yourself to a Christmas gift!
I have really enjoyed using the grunge fabric in my blocks this year. You can now head over to PBJ and pick up the free block pattern this month. It is available in 12 inch and 6 inch sizes. Jen always has lots of tips should you need the help! And don’t forget to link up your block with her at the end of the month. There are some great prizes to be won!!
I hope you all have a week filled with awesome!!
Great version of this block! Looking forward to seeing your quilt. Are you doing this again in 2022?
Good morning, Brenda! I love how you used Grunge throughout the year on these blocks, especially this one. I am a huge fan of the color olive and also everything olives. I can’t wait to see your finished quilt with all of these lovely blocks. There’s just TWO weeks left in 2021. Egad. It’s hard to believe that we’ll be ushering in 2022 shortly. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Can’t wait to see your finished quilt!
Hi Brenda, Your olive block looks really neat. I do love olives, especially in salads. sandwiches, by themselves, or on wooden or plastic picks to make an hordourve. On the pick I place a 1 in rolled up piece of olive loaf or pickle loaf or thin sliced ham or turkey, etc other type of thin sliced deli meat, a square of cheese, a half of a cherry tomato, and an olive. It makes a pretty display placed around a pretty tray along with a variety of different types of crackers. Have a Merry Christmas.
