Why, yes, I could start my day without coffee. But I like being able to remember things like how to say words and put on pants.

Happy January!! Here’s to a blessed New Year!!
Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I’m still trying to figure out where 2024 went! LOL I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Day and are ready to take on 2025! One thing I can say, the weather in the south is starting 2025 off with a bang! Our high tomorrow will be 59…at midnight and dropping throughout the day to a blistering 32 by 6 PM!! UGH! Though I live in the south, I may have to become a snowbird in the winter! LOL And speaking of snow, we may have flurries tomorrow morning and depending on how things go, maybe an inch of snow Friday/Saturday! That’s just enough to shut things down here…especially if there is ice involved! Now, on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 12/30- 1/5/25:
- Continue working on secret sewing! DONE!! First one finished and the second cut out and begun.
- Zoom with my SAHRR buddies! DONE!! Are you ready for SAHRR? Monday is the start!! We hope you will join us!
- Whatever suits my fancy! DONE!! We took the boys out for their birthday lunch on Wednesday. Love celebrating birthdays with the family! We watched a lot of football…unfortunately my team did not win their bowl game.
Plans for the week of 1/6 – 1/12/25:
- Continue with secret sewing!!
- Hopefully make backings and get started on quilting them.
- Whatever suits my fancy!

Hi Brenda, it sounds like you’ve had a productive week! I wasn’t going to join in the SAHRR this year since the one from two years ago is still a UFO, but I realised that I have a panel quilt that needs to get done before the baby is no longer a baby! This will be the perfect opportunity. So looking forward to seeing all of everyone’s great work. Take care.
Our snowfall on Monday totally messed me up. It seemed to go on forever although I don’t think we got more than 6″ or so. But I totally forgot to link to my favorite Monday parties. Sounds like you had a great week last week. Hope this one is going well too.
Thank you Brenda for sharing all of the lovely quilt projects! Luckily, we escaped most of the snow, as we only got about 4 inches whereas other areas just south of us got a lot more. However, we are going to be in the deep freeze here as we are supposed to be in for some single digit temps and even a few days with some below 0 temps. Hope your area stays warmer than ours.
School is out tomorrow because of snow. The kiddos were so happy. LOL. Stay warm and cozy, Brenda and enjoy time in your sewing studio. You had a great week last week. I hope you are able to get all of the backings pieced. Hugs.
How do I sign up for SAHRR?
Hi Sue! There is not a sign up. Just watch for the blog posts and you will be able to receive the prompts. If you haven’t, please sign up for the blog and you will receive the posts in your inbox! I look forward to seeing your project!
Freezing in Houston too! Poor Astrid’s ears are chilly, so she gets extra snuggle time. Have a great week, and stay warm
I forgot where you live, but hope you stay warm! It is 19 here this morning in far north Texas, and we are forecast a little bit of wintry precip on Thursday/Friday – I’m excited! 😀
