Let your Monday be caffeinated and your goals lofty ☕🌟

Happy Monday morning!!! Welcome to Monday Musings! I hope you have all had a great week. Mine was definitely bittersweet. This was the first week my baby girl drove herself to school each day…alone! 😭 I texted her when she got home and told her I was very proud of her…but a little sad. We got in my car Sunday to go to church and Chicken Legs said, “your car hasn’t moved all week.” I almost cried! Now that you have an ear worm from the meme above, let’s move on to the good stuff!!
Here’s how my story ended for the week of 4/7 – 4/13/25:
- Finish quilting my April IB Drunkard’s Path project and post. DONE!! You can read about it HERE. Click the photos for a larger view. I had a lot of fun custom quilting this with free motion pebbles (I call them rocks as they are very uneven! LOL), curls and swirls, straight line ruler work, and Pro-Stitcher for the clam shell feathers in the “pie” shapes, the four solid background blocks, and the center feather block.
- Start thinking about the May IB blog hop project which will be something Irish Chain, using die we received from AccuQuilt in our January boxes. I already have so many ideas running through my head and I just need to wrangle one into a project! DONE!! I have played with the design and worked on the quilty math until I had a headache and had to stop! It’s sad because I love math, but sometimes trying to make a 12″ block fit in a 10″ space gets a bit tricky!
- Start cutting out the Opportunity quilt for our church youth fundraiser. Each year I make a quilt to help them earn money for their summer camp/conference. DONE!! Cut and ready to begin stitching.
- Whatever suits my fancy! Not much other than cutting and mathing! LOL
Plans for the week of 4/14 – 4/20/25:
- Start stitching the Opportunity quilt.
- Hopefully do a test block for my May Irish Chain project to see if my quilty math worked!
- MD appointment on Wednesday.
- Whatever cranks my tractor!
Here is some quilty inspiration shared last week!

LOL, totally understand the headache with a 12″ block math for a10″ block. I gave up and went a different way. I have the 10″ qube so not sure why I didn’t bring it out. Love your DP finish.
Awww that is quite a milestone for you and your granddaughter! That cartoon is right on the mark – lol!
Happy Monday, Brenda. Well the Sound of Silence is certainly going to be ringing in my head all day. Hee! Hee! I love you Monday memes. I look forward to seeing your May Irish Chain. I wish you a lovely week checking off your list. Hugs.
