This fundraiser quilt for my church was fun to design and make. I really love how it turned out! The youth will benefit from the sale of tickets for their camp this summer. The tickets are two for $5 or five for $10. I hope they do well with it and teens who might not be able to attend will have an inspiring trip because of monies raised with this quilt. Today we were able to swing by the park on the way to Braden’s karate belt test and get a good pic. We just weren’t tall enough (and we are 5’11”) to hang it at the top of the fence! I think you can see it well here, though. Finally a gorgeous, but hot, day for photos!

I created this label for it and will get it embroidered and sewn on tomorrow or Saturday.

Ring Around the Rosie was designed using EQ 8 software and measures approximately 93 x 93 inches. I thank Island Batik for generously providing the gorgeous fabric for this quilt. I used blenders and basics (Tea Rose, Geranium, Bubblegum, Sangria, and Azalea for the rosebud blocks, Leprechaun, Frog, Grass and Honeydew for the modified log cabin blocks, and lavender cornerstones) all of which can be purchased year round at your local quilt shops that carry Island Batik fabrics. A Schmetz 80/12 needle was used for piecing with my favorite Aurifil thread. Rosie was quilted on my HQ Avante (Ms. Mattie) using a light gray Glide 40 wt thread with Bottom Line for the bobbin, and Quilter’s Dream 80/20 batting. The pieces were cut using my AccuQuilt GO!Big and Qubes, as well as the 2-1/2 inch strip die and 8-1/2 inch square die. The quilting motif is Springtime Waltz by My Creative Stitches. I think it is perfect with the birds, butterflies and flowers! The Christys’ (Sr. and Jr. as they say!) motifs always stitch perfectly! No affiliation – just a very satisfied customer!

Thank you again, Island Batik. Your kind generosity will help a child attend camp this summer! I will be linking up with Patty of Elm Street Quilts for my completed One Monthly Goal!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Stay cool and quilt on!
See you soon!
Brenda

Wow Brenda, you did yourself proud! It’s a beautiful design, and even more so sewn in the gorgeous IB fabrics you chose. How wonderful of them to provide them, and how wonderful of you to donate your time and talent to making this treasure. I know it will raise a ton of money.
What a gorgeous finish! I am sure it will be a successful fundraiser, with tickets at those prices. I love the panto you choose, too.
Hi Brenda! Ring Around the Rosie turned out just perfectly. I just LOVE the quilting design you chose. Everything about the finish has just gone together so nicely. I’d love to purchase two tickets for the raffle, if you would send me your address please? In the unlikely event that one of my tickets was drawn, would you ask them to redraw? I am certain that this fundraiser will be quite successful. Happy Friday! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
