Welcome to the first of six rounds of the Stay at Home Round Robin – 2025! This round is prompted by Kathleen of Kathleen McMusing, and is the King’s Crown block. There are several blocks that came up when I searched Electric Quilt for “King’s Crown.” Check out the prompt on Kathleen’s website and see which she is using. Kathleen is also giving an option of using a block beginning with the quilter’s first initial. This is the King’s Crown block I chose and they measure four inches each. I’m TRYING to keep my quilt smaller this year! LOL

And here they are added to my center block!

Now it’s time for you to make your Round One blocks and link up with Kathleen at Kathleen McMusing, as she is hosting this round!! Remember you interpret each prompt and it’s placement as YOU see fit! There are no quilting/designing police in this SAHRR!! Some of my blocks will be four inches and some will be other sizes. It’s all up to you! Make one block or make a row, or even a border!
If you don’t have a blog you can link up an Instagram post as well to be eligible for one of the many prizes that will be given away.
Visit each of the co-hosts and take a look at their interpretations of this round.

We will make a list and use a random number generator to choose the winners for each prize! So, if you link up to 3 Linky parties, you will have 3 opportunities to win! If you don’t have a blog or Instagram account, contact me, or one of the other co-hosts and we will post your SAHRR on our blog. This way you still have an opportunity to win!

Those blocks are great with your center! Can’t wait to see where this goes!
I love your version of the block! It looks fantastic with your fabulous center.
A lovely start to a quilt!
I never knew that block was named King’s crown but I liked that one best as well. I’m still trying to figure out how to make it work but will have something together for Friday. Love your border!
Like your work Brenda and kudos for this exact sewing! Not my colour the red, but this what I love, to give applaus to the wonderful work of you / others! It will extremly interesting to see the final result in some weeks!
I love your addition this week. This is such a striking design I’m intrigued to see how this goes on 🙂
Hi Brenda, that’s a lovely block!
I really like the bold colors that you’re using for this project!
I love your blocks! This is going to be a very striking quilt!!
Those blocks work really well with your center! I’m excited to see this quilt with each new border!
So awesomely cool!
Wow! That’s incredible! I could never sew a block that small with my arthritic hands, but I love looking at yours.
Wow what a dynamic quilt already Brenda! I don’t know what layout I’ll do; I’ve always done rounds but may venture into uncharted territory this year!
I love this version! The 4″ is a great size….and I am glad that option worked for you.
Dynamic start, Brenda!!!
I meant to say in my comment – “if I was participating” – which I am not. 😉
I had not heard of kings crown blocks, but yours look fantastic with your center block! Can’t believe they are so small. 🙂 I looked at Quilter’s Cache just to see what is available for the letter “L”, and I was participating. Besides the obvious Log Cabin, I would choose Linda’s Star – it’s pretty neat. I might get squirreled away to make one. 😀
Your kings crown blocks are 4 inches!! Wowzer. I’ll have to search EQ for all the blocks that begin with the letter ‘K’ also. I have alot of addons including blockbase, so this should take some time.
That is looking amazing so far, Brenda! FYI: when clicking on your link from Kathleen and Gail’ blog, it didn’t take me here, but took me to Ang’s blog, so better let everyone know in case the link is wrong on all the other blogs too? Daryl
