I hope you all had a great weekend! It was nice and warm here, we’re talking 70’s and 80’s!! We haven’t turned our AC on yet and my daughter came to work on their taxes and claimed she was going to pass out, it was so hot! It wasn’t really, but their house is like 12° all the time, so it was warm to her, I’m sure! I should have told her about my days as a home health nurse when it would be 90+ degrees outside and some of my patients would still have heat on! I didn’t understand it then, but I certainly do now. As we age, we tend to lose our insulation and what’s comfortable for us is too warm for others! But hey, that’s the way it goes!!
I wasn’t going squirrel hunting but, having just finished up another project I was working on, decided to go look in the hole in the squirrel tree!! LOL Isn’t it fun to just play sometimes and work on something totally unplanned? I think it is!!
Recently I found a design for Reverse Applique Notebook covers on OESD (no affiliation) and knew I really wanted to make it. While I (still!) don’t have any cork, I DO have some Kraft-Tex (affiliate link) in a variety of colors (provided by C&T Publishing). I knew this design would be a perfect fit for Kraft-Tex! The hardest part was deciding which color and fabrics to use!!
After looking through all the directions, I loaded the design on my USB stick and headed to Sally Solaris! I decided to go green for spring with Kraft-Tex, and then decided the fabric I wanted to use for the reverse applique. Well, you know me, it has to have some purple in it! LOL And, without further ado, here are some pics of my Reverse Applique Notebook cover!
Is that cool, or what?! This project was fun and quick to make! Now I just need to get some new 5×7 notebooks to use in it! There are many different designs in this set and I will make more of these. They are so much fun!
I hope you enjoyed seeing me chase squirrels! I’ll be back tomorrow with an update on my To-Do List!!
Oh, I love it!!! What an awesome project.
Hi Brenda! I’m sorry you peeked back in the squirrel hole . . . but not really. THIS IS SO COOL. I truly want to make one. This would be just perfect for my boss, with a special cover just for her. Or maybe you have them for sale??!! Love this whole idea – everything about it. ~smile~ Roseanne
Oooh what a cool notebook cover. Love the bright colors too. Big question… how do you trim out the design? If you did it by scissors you are a fantastic cutter! I need to take a look at OESD to take a look at them. Thanks for the info.
Hi Brenda, Love your notebook cover and the fun colors and fabric that you used! I agree about needing the temperature to be a lot warmer now that I am older. I never go anyplace without a jacket, as everyplace always seems cold to me. Have a great week!
I really like your notebook cover…. is this a design you have available?
