May PHD Update

by | Jun 3, 2023 | 6 comments

Another month has slipped by and here we are for another PHD update! This fun event is hosted by Gail of Quilting Gail. Thanks for keeping us moving towards our goal with these monthly updates!!

While I didn’t finish any of the UFOs on my list, I did finish and was able to show a couple of starts.

First was my May Island Batik project that was begun in April. My May project was made using the collection Sorbet, by Claudia Pfeil of Claudia Pfeil Designs for Island Batik and the Corner Pop tool from Deb Tucker’s Studio 180 Design. You can read the juicy details about it here.

The next start I finished was really a squirrel! I made a cover for Baby Nina. A group of us get together on Wednesdays to sew and chat and we are able to leave our equipment set up, so she really needed a cover! I used my test block from the first block of Sunshine Cove to make this, along with some chalkboard fabric I have had for a few years and needed a makeover! LOL

And here are my spreadsheets.

This month I will have at least one more UFO to check off my list with my project for Joan from Moosestash Quilting’s When Pigs Fly Blog Hop! Stay tuned for that the week of the 19th!

I’m linking up with Gail at Quilting Gail. Click the link and head over to see how everyone is progressing with their PHDs! Until next time…

Happy Quilting!

Hi Brenda! Where do you meet for your Wednesday sewing group? It’s so nice that you can leave your sewing machine setup! That’s a wonderful way to not have to lug a machine with you, and it saves time setting up, etc. How great that you could use up the test block. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Your projects are beautiful. I love the color scheme for your boomerang quilt. I also thought I was going to participate in PhD this year, but I sort of lost track of posting there. I have managed to finished all the UFOs I had planned for each month, so at least that part worked out.

I still LOVE your May IB challenge using Sorbet! So lovely!

I had to laugh at the “I’m not a Hoarder …” meme!!!
